Matt Lake is a Los Angeles based guitarist, educator, composer/arranger. He began playing along to Black Sabbath and Rush albums at the age of twelve, but his interests didn't stop at classic rock. He holds a Bachelor, Master, and Doctorate degree in Music - all from the University of Southern California.
As an educator, Matt has over 20 years of instructional and curriculum development experience - from one on one music lessons to college lectures. He was instrumental (no pun intended) in the development of the curriculum and pedagogical approach behind Fender Play.
As an artist, he's played, written and recorded with several bands, including: Matt Lake Trio, Young Dempsey, Walking Phoenixes, The Black Widows, The Atomic Sherpas, The Down Beats, The B-Movie Rats, Electric Children, Lee Ving's Range War, Fish Hook Smile and Power Falcon.
