They say it takes 10,000 hours of practice to master an instrument. If the same holds true for teaching and curriculum development, then Matt has logged in those hours, and then some... For the past twenty years, he has taught private lessons to all level of students. From casual hobbyists to coaching more serious players through the audition process for admissions to such institutions as USC and Berklee School of Music.
At the college level, he has taught Guitar and Music History and Appreciation classes at USC, Chaffey College, and Glendale Community College.
For the past 6 years he has worked as a Digital Producer and Curriculum Specialist for Fender Play, a premier video based e-learning platform for guitar, bass, and ukulele from a legendary musical instrument manufacturer - where, in addition to being a featured instructor, he oversaw the transcription, drafting, and arrangement of the courses and lessons. Delivering over 6,000 video lessons from 2017 to present.
Matt is currently accepting students of all ages and ability levels for: guitar, ukulele, and bass. Lessons and curriculum are tailored to each student's goals and interests: Rock, blues, jazz, pop, funk, metal, country, fingerstyle, theory, technique, playing/singing, lead, rhythm, song writing... Whatever you're after, let's get to it and have some fun along the way!
